Common Ground

Theatre Company

Common Ground is a community theatre company based in Lincoln which started life in 2001. The eight friends who met in the Queen of the West pub to set up the company felt there was a need in Lincoln for a theatre group which would truly encourage new members – both experienced actors and beginners – and which would aim to produce thought-provoking, high-quality, challenging drama.

Over the years its ethos has remained the same, and Common Ground has staged a wide variety of plays, from dramas such as Waiting for Godot, No Exit and Closer; literary adaptations such as The Turn of the Screw, Great Expectations and Sense and Sensibility; Shakespeare’s including Julius Caesar and Romeo and Juliet; to comedies including the world premiere of a new adaptation of the Jeeves and Wooster stories by PG Wodehouse.

Common Ground Theatre Company brought six productions to the Broadbent Theatre between 2006 and 2023 and they’re looking forward to many more visits!
