Common Ground is a community theatre company based in Lincoln which started life in 2001. The eight friends who met in the Queen of the West pub to set up the company felt there was a need in Lincoln for a theatre group which would truly encourage new members – both experienced actors and beginners – and which would aim to produce thought-provoking, high-quality, challenging drama.
Over the years its ethos has remained the same, and Common Ground has staged a wide variety of plays, from dramas such as Waiting for Godot and No Exit; literary adaptations such as The Turn of the Screw, Great Expectations and Sense and Sensibility; Shakespeare including Julius Caesar and Romeo and Juliet; to comedies including Educating Rita and their own adaptation of the Jeeves and Wooster stories by PG Wodehouse.
Common Ground Theatre Company has performed nine plays at the Broadbent Theatre since 2006 and they’re looking forward to many more visits!
